Poetry Workshop with Don Mee Choi

This interactive poetry workshop, will explore the work of Yi Sang. Yi Sang was one of South Korea’s most innovative poets during the Japanese occupation of Korea in the 1930s. We’ll use translation, dramatization, and performance to embody the poetry of Yi Sang and to generate new writing. Participants should bring poetry props to the workshop. Props can be found and collected from any surrounding, such as parks, streets or one’s home. They can be leaves, branches, discarded objects, plates, bowls, thread/yarn, mirrors, and/or any other objects. Come prepared to read, play, rehearse, and perform!
