Biography

Liu Heung Shing is an accomplished photojournalist and Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer. He has also edited of a number of books on Chinese photography, being possessed of a wealth of knowledge about both Chinese and Western photography. Born in Hong Kong in 1951, Liu apprenticed at Life magazine in the 1970s, where he was inspired and influenced by the legendary team of Life photographers including Gjon Mili. In 1977 he moved to Beijing, where he became the chief photographer for Time magazine and the Associated Press. In 1992 he shared the Pulitzer Prize for Spot News Photography for the AP’s coverage of the collapse of the Soviet Union.

劉香成是知名攝影記者兼普立茲獎得獎攝影師。他對中西攝影有著豐富知識,亦編輯過多本關於中式攝影的書籍。在 1951 年生於香港,他曾在 1970 年代於美國《生活》週刊當學徒,深受該雜誌如 Gjon Mili 等多位大師級攝影師啟發和影響。他在1977年搬到北京,擔任《時代雜誌》及美聯社首席攝影師,並於 1992 年憑著美聯社對蘇聯解體的報道獲得了普立茲「焦點新聞攝影獎」(現為「現場新聞攝影獎」)。
