Anna Fifield is the Beijing bureau chief for The Washington Post, covering all aspects of greater China. She previously covered Japan and the Koreas for the Post, with a focus on North Korea. She is the author of The Great Successor: The Divinely Perfect Destiny of Brilliant Comrade Kim Jong Un, a book about Kim Jong Un and his rise to power. Fifield started as a journalist in her home country of New Zealand, then worked for the Financial Times for 13 years. She has been a Nieman journalism fellow at Harvard and received the Shorenstein Journalism Award from Stanford University for her outstanding reporting on Asia.
