Biography
Anna Fifield is the Beijing bureau chief for the Washington Post, covering all aspects of greater China. She previously covered Japan and the Koreas for the Post, with a focus on North Korea. She is the author of The Great Successor, about Kim Jong Un and his rise to power. She started as a journalist in her home country of New Zealand and then worked for the Financial Times for thirteen years. She has been a Nieman Fellow at Harvard and received the Shorenstein Journalism Award from Stanford University for her outstanding reporting on Asia.
