Adam Francis spent the majority of his professional life working in financial services. His passion, however has always been exploring the natural world. Outside of the office he is a wildlife photographer, nature enthusiast and a passionate advocate for the natural sciences. In an effort make a contribution to these areas of interest he decided to embark on the creation of A Field Guide to the Snakes of Hong Kong. It took nearly three years to find and documenting the many local snake species of Hong Kong and as part of efforts to properly document each one, Adam ensured photographs were taken from multiple angles and of multiple individuals. This painstaking approach combined with the first hand experience gained with each species laid the foundation for the knowledge and content required to produce this field guide.
