Spring Garden — Tomoka Shibasaki 柴崎友香：《春之庭院》
Winner of the Akutagawa Prize in 2014, Tomoka Shibasaki’s novella Spring Garden explores loneliness, alienation and desire for simple human contact amidst increasing urbanisation in Tokyo. Shibasaki will be working with a translator in this session. Assisted by a translator, HKUSPACE lecturer Eric Kwong will be talking to Shibasaki about Japanese culture, literature and language.

Tomoka Shibasaki was born in 1973 in Osaka, studied Human Geography as her major in university.
