My City, Our City 西西的《我城》

My City, Our City” features Hong Kong writers Matthew Cheng, Hon Lai Chu, Dorothy Tse, and Wong Yi, who will read from their favourite works by Xi Xi, and discuss her significance as a Hong Kong writer and her impact on the literature in the city. Xi Xi is this year’s selected writer for Hong Kong’s citywide community reading project One City One Book, which will focus on her defining novel My City. Moderated by Tammy Lai-Ming Ho.

This event will be conducted in Cantonese with simultaneous interpretation into English.

此活動集合了香港作家鄭政恆,韓麗珠,謝曉虹及黃怡。他們將討論自己最喜愛的西西作品,兼會討論這個香港作家的重要性,以及她對香港文學的影響。西西是本年「一城一書座談會」的年度作家,重點會是她享負盛名的《我城》。本活動將由何麗明主持。

Hon Lai Chu is the author of the short story collections Darkness under the Sun and Homecoming, and novels such as Body Seam, Empty Face, Lost Caves, The Border of Centrifugation, Body-sewing, Grey Flower, Kite Family, The Water Pipe Forest, Silent Creature and Hard Copies.

Dorothy Tse’ s works in Chinese include the short story collection, So Black《好黑》and her debut novel, Owlish and the Music-Box Ballerina《鷹頭貓與音樂箱女孩》。

Wong Yi is a Hong Kong writer, columnist, and editor-at-large at Fleurs des lettres.

Tammy Lai-Ming Ho is the founding co-editor of Hong Kong-based international literary publication, Cha: An Asian Literary Journal.

Matthew Cheng is the review editor of Voice and Verse poetry magazine.
