Adapting The Handmaid’s Tale - 《

With the support of the Consulate General of Canada in Hong Kong

More than thirty years ago, Margaret Atwood’s The Handmaid’s Tale was released to critical acclaim. In recent years, the book’s presence and relevance in society have only grown; it has been adapted into ballet, opera, television and more. Join Canadian artist Renee Nault as she discusses the multiyear process of adapting The Handmaid’s Tale into a graphic novel. Nault’s adaptation is a visual masterpiece, each of her 240 pages carefully hand-painted with watercolour to bring to life Atwood’s dystopian classic. Hosted by Liz Ho, Nault will begin with a brief reading of her adaptation, followed by a discussion and Q&A session.
