Each year, the Young Readers Festival (YRF) brings storytelling to life through a carefully curated programme of in-school talks and workshops with both local and international authors. Not only are these events vibrant and fun, but a UK National Literacy Trust survey found that pupils who had an author visit were twice as likely to read above the expected level for their age and were more likely to enjoy reading and writing. Our YRF schools programme motivates students to engage with the written word, promotes literacy and communication levels and nurtures a generation of outward-looking, globally engaged citizens. Working closely with established and budding kidlit stars, we provide authentic experiences that will enhance the school curriculum and fit in with school schedules.
