ANNOUNCING OUR NEW MEMBERSHIP SYSTEM!

Dear Friends,

We are delighted that our 20th edition went ahead during this pandemic year and that we were able to expand our total audience from the 2019 edition. Thank you to all those who joined us, whether in person or online – we sincerely appreciate your support of the Festival and the literary arts in Hong Kong.

Just under 5,000 people attended events in November at Tai Kwun, Asia Society, online via our Crowdcast digital platform, and via our Schools Programme. Events covered a wide range of genres and topics in fiction and non-fiction, including the US election, US-China relations, colonial history, food technology, adapting LGBTQ stories for the screen, Chinese millennials, speculative fiction in translation and much more. With more events in Cantonese and Mandarin, and Chinese subtitles added to digital events, we reached a broader audience than ever before.

Many of you have asked how you can catch up on authors you missed in November, so we are pleased to make this rich archive available going forward. A year’s Festival Membership with digital access to 51 events from ILF 2020 starts from as little as HKD500. Subscribers and donors will also have early access to an exciting programme of off-festival events leading up to the 2021 Festival in November. Membership would make a wonderful holiday gift – or consider joining us at a higher level and enjoy benefits including VIP receptions, Festival Passes and reserved seating. Read on for full details.

我們非常高興我們的第20版在疫情影響下的一年順利完成，並且能夠從2019年擴大我們的受眾，感謝所有親身或線上參與活動的朋友對香港文學藝術的支持。

今年，在大館，亞洲協會香港中心，以及我們的Crowdcast網絡平台上和通過 “學校計劃” 近5000人參與了11月舉行的活動。活動涵蓋了小說與非小說的廣泛題材，包括美國大選，中美關係，殖民歷史，食品技術，改編成電影的LGBTQ故事，中國的千禧一代，翻譯推想小說等等。今年的活動比以往的文學節較多以粵語和普通話舉辦的活動，線上活動又增加了中文字幕，讓我們接觸到比以往的更廣的聽眾。以回應聽眾您對如何追上在11月錯過了的活動的詢問，我們很高興將來提供這個豐富的存檔。
