Since 2001, the Hong Kong International Literary Festival (HKILF) has been celebrating world literature in English annually, uniting foreign authors with our local talent, and presenting them in stimulating performances. Over 600 visiting and local authors have been featured in more than 500 literary events, including book talks, panel discussions, movie screenings and poetry readings.

Our Schools Programme brings Festival authors to primary and secondary schools across the city to promote a love of reading and writing as well as higher levels of literacy in Hong Kong. In March 2017, we reached a record number of close to 6,000 students and worked with 34 schools, many of which are aided schools. Visit our most recent Schools Programme photo gallery here.

With only a fraction of our operating budget covered by ticketing income, we rely on the generosity of our donors to make the Festival grow and flourish. Help us curate better events for Hong Kong’s literary scene and reach more students in need by making a donation today.

HKILF is a registered charity in Hong Kong. Donations exceeding HK$100 are tax-deductible. You may donate either to our Annual Fund or our Student Ticket Fund.
