The Hong Kong International Literary Festival Ltd. is a not-for-profit organisation that relies on the generosity of individuals and organisations to maintain the quality and quantity of our programmes. We invite you to join our Friends of the Festival programme. Becoming a Friend allows you to contribute to the enhancement of the literary arts in Asia and to take advantage of exclusive benefits and privileges we offer. Large or small, all donations are gratefully received.

How to become a Friend of the Festival:

What will happen to my donation?

Your donation will go towards the current needs of the Festival including: international air travel and accommodation costs for visiting authors; supporting individual events; and hospitality programmes and information for visiting authors.

Benefits of becoming a Friend of the Festival

All Friends of the Festival receive valuable benefits including priority booking for events. Each membership level offers benefits in addition to those of the Reader level membership. 

Reader  ($500 - $2,499)

·         Priority Booking and Advance Notification of events;

·         A mailed copy of the Festival Programme;

·         Invitation to the Opening Celebration;

·         Exclusive Friends-Only Events;

·         2010 Friends of the Festival Membership Card;

·         Ticket Discounts;

·         VIP Seats at University Lectures;

·         10% discount for all Festival authors’ books at Dymock’s;

·         A copy of the March edition of Asia Literary Review, and a subscription discount;

·         Travel & Leisure Southeast Asia: subscription discounts: 20% off for all Friends, and 45% for American Express cardholder Friends; and

·         Acknowledgement in the Festival Programme and on the website (unless you specify otherwise).

 

Bookworm ($2,500 - $4,999)

·         One signed paperback copy of a Festival author’s book; and

·         Invitation to a private group coffee or cocktails with a Festival author*.

 

Collector ($5,000 - $9,999)

·         One signed hardback copy of a Festival author’s book; and

·         Invitation to a private group lunch with a Festival author*.

 

Bibliophile ($10,000 - $24,999)

·         One signed hardback copy of a Festival author’s book;

·         Opportunity to host a Festival author for a private lunch*.

Connoisseur ($25,000 +)

·         Signed hardback copies of two Festival authors’ books;

·         Opportunity to host a Festival author for a private dinner*; and

·         Two complimentary tickets to a Festival event of your choice*.

Join together

This year, Book Clubs enjoy a special offer to join the Friends of the Festival Programme. We hope that book club groups of up to ten members will join forces to reach Bibliophile and Connoisseur levels. We hope that this will increase the Festival’s ability to invite additional authors. In exchange, the Festival will offer your group an opportunity to host an author for a private dinner or book club talk, in addition to the benefits offered to the Reader level membership.

In return for this generous support we will name your group on our website and in our programme. We will work with you and the authors, local and international, to make a memorable event.
