Wena Poon

Wena Poon is a Singapore-born, multi-lingual American writer and lawyer. A two-time nominee for the Frank O'Connor Award in Ireland and the Singapore Literature Prize, she also won the Willesden Herald Short Story Prize and was shortlisted for the Bridport Prize for Poetry in England. Her latest novel Alex y Robert (2010) was adapted by the BBC into a 10-episode Radio 4 series broadcast worldwide. She is only the fourth Singapore-born author to have her books published in the West since Singapore’s independence in 1965.
