Vincent Lam

Vincent Lam is a Canadian writer and medical doctor. In 2006, with his collection of short stories Bloodletting and Miraculous Cures (2006), he became the youngest writer, and the only first-time writer to win the Scotiabank Giller, Canada's richest and most prestigious literary award. The collection was adapted for television by Shaftesbury Films and broadcast on HBO Canada. His first novel Cholon, Near Forgotten will be published by Doubleday Canada. A Lecturer with the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto, he credits Margaret Atwood as his mentor.
