Jonathan Watts is an award-winning journalist and the author of When a Billion Chinese Jump: How China Will Save the World—or Destroy It (2010), which reports the story of China's breakneck development and its consequences. He was shortlisted for Foreign Correspondent of the Year at the 2006 British Press Awards and was co-winner of the environment prize at the One World Media Awards for a series on the global food crisis in 2009. He is Asia Environment Correspondent for The Guardian and a former president of the Foreign Correspondents' Club of China.
