Born in 1974 in Singapore, Eddie Tay is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of English, Chinese University of Hong Kong. He got his PhD in The University of Hong Kong. His research interests are in the area of colonial and postcolonial Singaporean and Malaysian literatures written in English. His teaching interests include children's literature as well as the reading and writing of poetry. He is also author of three collections of poetry and has been invited to various international literary festivals.
