The 2010 Man Hong Kong International Literary Festival will be celebrating its tenth anniversary this year with some of the book world’s biggest names. From Thursday, 11 March to Friday, 19 March 2010, the Literary Festival presents important and influential authors side by side with distinctive new writers; provides regional and local talents with access to an internationally recognized platform from which to introduce their work; and fosters an awareness of the variety and richness of writing from and about Asia. Voracious readers and book hoarders will be delighted with this year's line up of writers. The Festival is also a celebration of ideas; ideas that challenge politics, ideas about sustainable business and ideas addressing the cultural climate in which we live. Events during the Festival provide readers and writers with an opportunity to meet, to debate and to enjoy conversation. From panel discussions to literary lunches, university lectures to the Financial Times debate, the Festival is an intellectual forum as well as an artistic platform. The Schools Programme is also a popular component of the Festival. Every year we introduce young readers to the wonders, pleasures and possibilities of reading and writing and this year promises to delight even the most lacklustre readers. As for those avid bookworms, they will be thrilled with our guest authors. For programme details, click here.
