Are you sitting comfortably? It’s story time – in fact, it’s time to celebrate the world of literature at the 2006 Man Hong Kong International Literary Festival.
We’ve got world-class authors flying in from around the planet. There will be winners of the most prestigious literary awards in the world, including the Nobel Prize for Literature winner Seamus Heaney, and current Man Booker prize winner John Banville. You’ll also meet the hottest names in Chinese fiction, including Su Tong, Mian Mian and Ma Jian.
Festival audiences will again have the chance to hear from one of the world’s top travel writers, Pico Iyer, as well as Suketu Mehta, winner of the 2005 Kiriyama Prize. For film fans, meet Doris Pilkington, whose book became the acclaimed movie Rabbit-Proof Fence. Then there are bestselling international non-fiction writers Mike Dash, Tom Standage and Armand Leroi, and big name journalists Tarun Tejpal and Elena Poniatowska.
