The 2005 Festival will feature a cracker-jack line-up of international and local children's authors, including Jeremy Strong and Deborah Ellis.

THE SCHOOLS PROGRAMME will take place at the Hong Kong Central Library, 7-11 March 2005.

AWESOME AUTHORS
A unique opportunity for secondary school students aged 16-18 to see Thomas Keneally, winner of the 1982 Booker Prize for Schindler's List, later made into an award winning film. This session will take place at the Hong Kong Central Library, 10 March 2005.

POETRY LIVE!
Visting regional poets and leading local poets join for an hour of reading and performance, helping poetry come alive for secondary school students aged 16-18.

EDUCATIONAL DISCOUNTS
In order to support Hong Kong’s educators and educational institutions, the Festival is offering a limited number of tickets to selected events at a 50% discount to teachers and students. Tickets will be offered at $60 (subject to terms and conditions given below) rather than the full price of $120, for the following events:
  • Shirley Hazzard & Hari Kunzru, Hong Kong Central Library, Tuesday, 8 March
  • Thomas Keneally, Alex Miller & Hsu-Ming Teo, Hong Kong Central Library, Wednesday, 9 March
  • MG Vassanji, Denise Chong & Deborah Ellis, Hong Kong Central Library, Friday, 11 March

Each event will be in two parts with an intermission, beginning at 7:00pm. This is a unique opportunity for students and teachers to see some of the world’s best writers at a very affordable cost.
